Introduction
Women's Housing Company Ltd celebrated our
20 years anniversary in the provision of
housing to single women in 2002.
We are a public company limited by guarantee
and incorporated with the National Companies
and Security Commission.
Women's Housing Company Ltd successfully
obtained 3-year accreditation status in
March 2005. Accreditation is assessed against
National Community Housing Standards.
In early 2005 the Office of Community Housing
introduced a compulsory registration system
for community housing providers. The purpose
of registration, which is performance based
is to promote a viable and well-governed
community-housing sector through a systemic
approach to measuring and reporting performance.
Women's Housing Company is registered with
the Office of Community Housing as a straight
'A' grade provider of community housing.

Statistics @ 30/6/2005
Women's Housing Company managed a total
of 583 properties at the end of the
financial year 2004/2005.
Capital properties comprised of 69.1%;
Leasehold properties of 28.3% and
Home Purchase Assistance program (now disbanded)
properties comprised of 2.6%.
Women's Housing Company in comparison to
other community housing providers covers
a large geographical area.
Such geographical coverage maximises our
flexibility and opportunity to meet housing
need of our applicants. At the same time,
the large coverage has implications on the
company in terms of travel time for annual
inspection, fire inspections, viewing of
properties for applicants, checking of major
repair works.

Properties under the Social Housing Subsidy
Program for working women is restricted
to Sydney's Inner West in term of location.

Partnerships
Women's Housing Company is committed to
providing housing for disadvantaged single
women with high needs. In order to achieve
this, the company engages in partnerships
with support agencies who provide the physical
and practical support to these women while
Women's Housing Company provides the accommodation
and the tenancy management.
Women's Housing Company at May 2006 was
engaged in numerous partnerships with 17
different organisations, covering 70 properties.
Our partnerships cover short term and long
term housing options.
All but one support agency signed a partnership
agreement with Women's Housing Company.
The agreement outlines the roles and expectation
of each organisation and processes to deal
with developing issues. The agreement is
reviewed annually.
